This policy applies to motors, components and bicycles left with us for repair, servicing or assessment — it explains how long we hold them, what we charge if they are not collected, and what happens to items that are abandoned.
It does not apply to orders placed through our online shop. If you want to return something you bought from us, see Delivery & Returns.
- Collection of goods
Customers are required to collect their goods promptly upon notification that:- the repair has been completed; or
- an estimate has been provided, and the repair has been declined or not authorised.
- Collection or return by post
If a customer is unable or unwilling to collect their goods in person, we may (at our discretion) arrange return by post or courier for motors and component parts only. All postage, packaging, and any insurance costs must be paid in advance prior to dispatch.
We do not accept complete bicycles by post, and we do not return complete bicycles by post under any circumstances. All complete bicycles must be delivered to and collected from our premises in person. - Storage period
We will store goods for a period of 28 days from the date of notification (the “Collection Period”). Notification may be made via telephone, email, SMS, or other contact details provided by the customer. - Storage charges
We reserve the right to charge storage fees of £3 per day for any goods not collected within the Collection Period. Storage charges will begin immediately after the 28-day period has expired. - Notice of intention to dispose
If goods remain uncollected after the Collection Period, we will make reasonable efforts to contact the customer and provide a final notice giving 14 days to:- collect the goods; or
- arrange and pay for return delivery (where applicable).
- Uncollected / abandoned goods
If goods are not collected, or return delivery is not arranged and paid for within the final notice period, they will be deemed abandoned. We reserve the right to:- sell the goods to recover outstanding charges (including repair, storage, delivery, and disposal costs); or
- recycle or otherwise dispose of the goods where appropriate.
- Recycling and disposal of e-bike motors
Where e-bike motors or associated components are abandoned, we will arrange for their recycling and disposal in accordance with applicable environmental regulations.
Due to the specialist nature of e-bike motors, including electrical and mechanical components requiring controlled handling, we apply a fixed recycling and disposal fee of £50. This fee covers assessment, handling, dismantling, processing, and compliance.
Where items are unrepairable or repair is not authorised, they may be treated as having no or negligible resale value in their current condition, and the recycling/disposal charge may be applied in full.
We may prioritise recycling over resale for safety, compliance, and traceability reasons. - Proceeds and charges
Where goods or components are sold or recycled, we may deduct any outstanding charges, including repair, storage, delivery, and recycling/disposal costs. Any remaining balance will be made available to the customer upon request for a reasonable period. - Unauthorised repairs and item condition
Where a customer declines or does not authorise a repair following an estimate, the item will be considered faulty and not fit for its intended purpose.
We do not guarantee the condition, functionality, or completeness of such items. For the purposes of storage, handling, and disposal, these items may be treated as having no or negligible resale value. - Customer responsibility
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that accurate and up-to-date contact details are provided. We are not responsible for failed delivery of notifications due to incorrect or outdated contact information. - Agreement to charges
By leaving goods with us for repair, customers acknowledge and agree that:- uncollected items may incur storage charges of £3 per day and recycling/disposal charges (including a £50 recycling fee where applicable);
- return delivery costs must be paid in advance where applicable; and
- goods may be sold, recycled, or disposed of in accordance with this policy.
- Legal compliance
This policy is intended to comply with the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977, and nothing in these terms affects the customer’s ownership rights until goods are lawfully disposed of in accordance with applicable law.
